Idea & Inspiration
For this draft video story, I continued to carry on with a narration of my path. More specifically my path in the sports management industry. I discuss through an audio clip that is incorporated into video. The initial image in the draft is my own logo that was created earlier in the semester using illustrator that displays a prototype resume logo. The following video clip comes from a fan engagement clip I took at an NBA game.
Design Process
To gain inspiration for this draft story I accessed a variety of sources but also used inspiration from previous course projects. In using my logo first, I thought this would incorporate an additional element. With the narration audio clip, I specifically gathered inspiration from a Work in Sports Podcast that discussed a story about an individual in the same industry. To aid in the visual portion I incorporated a previously recorded video from a professional sports game. This was a video at a Portland Trailblazer’s game a place that I hope to work my way up to one day. After collecting all of the pieces I was able to compile them into one product.
Technical Detail
In the collection process of these materials I began by using my personal smartphone to record video footage from a fan engagement portion of an NBA game. The next step was to record my own narration using the Voice Memo application on my smartphone. In creating the professional business logo, I used Adobe Illustrator. Using Adobe Premiere I created a new sequence using my voice narration, basketball game clip, and the business logo. To follow I trimmed the pieced together sequence. Next, I added an effect by incorporating a dipped to black transition from my logo to the clip. I placed the narration of the audio section of the sequence to ensure that it played in the background of the video. A challenge that I encountered was trimming the sequence to the exact specified time. I recommend to others to use the arrow keys instead of a mouse or track pad.
Hi Felicia,
Wow Great Job! I loved this story, your video is awesome and its super cool that you were able to open up, be vulnurable and talk about your passions. I really really enjoyed the logo that you used in the opening clip! Although I loved your narration I think you should add more media content instead of just using you logo and then the continuous video clip to capture the audiences attention.I also think that you could use the video clip just significantly shrink down the video significantly!! Overall I think you are on the right track to creating an amazing video project and I look forward to seeing your final! Goodluck on your sports management journey! You will do great!
Awesome Job!

Hi Felicia! You did a great job with your draft video story! I like how you started your video off with that sports logo, I thought it was a unique and cool touch. I also enjoyed the media you inserted from a game you attended. However, I would add more video clips to make it less continuous in order to keep the viewers hooked. I think your voiceover was awesome and really well done, the only thing that would make it better would be to present your media clips accordingly! For example, when talking about how you joined the sports management club, you could insert a clip of one of the club meetings or when you’re talking about volunteering as a youth basketball coach you could maybe include a video of you in the midst of coaching or capture the youth team in action! Can’t wait to see the final draft.

The feedback provided by my peers offered various perspectives on areas of my video that could use changes and improvements.I plan to take these comments and critiques into consideration when constructing my final video story. In summary, my peers included that I should add more video clips from my experiences in the industry rather than just footage from the game I had attended. Additionally, a critique included that I could significantly decrease the overall length of the original clip while still keeping it for the final product. Another suggestion I plan to take into strong consideration would be to plan my media clips accordingly so that they align with my final audio narration. I will also gather media from a youth basketball game I will be coaching this week as well as a basketball game that is a part of my internship. I will incorporate these new clips with transitions while maintaining the narration. I found the peer feedback to be very insightful.

Felicia,
Your voiceover is perfect! I love that you were able to use your own video. I have never been to a professional basketball game, so I loved it. I think that it would be so cool if you added a video or pictures of you coaching. I understand if you are unable because if there is a child their parents may or may not want their faces to be in the picture. I am so happy to hear that you are majoring in something that you love. If you have any videos at any sports game at WSU I think that would be so cool to add. I am going to use your idea of starting the video with your logo you created. It sounds like you already have an idea of what you are going to do in your final video. I am excited to see your final project. Great job so far!
I wish you the best of luck with the rest of your final video and other finals.

Great video Felicia! I really liked the way that you made your video. I think your video has some very strong elements. I liked how you started off explaining your journey with coming to WSU and picking sports management. I think that one thing that could be changed is your Segway into marketing. I want to hear more of your story in sports management instead of marketing. Since that is what your journey is about. I loved the way that you had the Trailblazers game on in the background. I think it made perfect sense with your sports story. I think one other thing you could add is maybe some pictures to go along with your story. I think that would add a personal element to your narrative. Other than that I think that you are doing fantastic on this project. I can’t wait to see how it wraps up!
